Vy Higginsen’s Gospel for Teens Choir
As Seen on CBS 60 Minutes
Now auditioning teens 13 – 19 years old. Prepare one gospel song, i.e. “His Eye is on the Sparrow” and “This Little Light of Mine”. Classes are free. Teens will enjoy singing and learning breathing, harmony, pitch, control, and music history.
Saturday, September 22, 1 – 3 p.m.
Friday, September 28, 6 – 8 p.m.

Auditions for the Gospel for Teens will be held at the Mama Foundation for the Arts, 149 West 126th Street.

Saturday, August 4th and 11th, 4 – 6 p.m.
Auditioning for strong Males and Females: African-American adults. Seeking altos, tenors and sopranos to play various characters, lead vocalists, and choir members. Must be dynamic and sing “old-school” R&B as well as traditional gospel. Rehearsals on weekday nights, performances on weekends.

Saturday, August 4th and 11th, 4 – 6 p.m.
Seeking-Doris Winter: African-American female, early to late 20s, soprano, portrays a recording star, character ages from 18-25 during play so must be able to assume teenage and adult appearance, strong solo vocalist LEAD; Reverend Winter: African-American male, 40s or 50s, tenor, strong solo vocalist, portrays a minister and father of lead; Mama Winter: African-American female, 40s or 50s, alto, strong solo vocalist, portrays mother of lead; Sister Carrie: African-American female, 30s, 40s or 50s, alto, strong solo vocalist; Minister of Music: African-American male, early 20-30s, tenor, portrays charismatic choir leader, strong solo, and moves well. Rehearsals on weekday nights, performances on weekends.
Both auditions are taking place at the Dempsey Theater, 127 West 127th Street (between Lenox and 7th Avenues)
