Open Call: Gospel for Teens Auditions

Gospel for Teens were recently profiled on CBS’ “60 Minutes.” Now talented vocalists ages 13-19 are invited to audition for the freshman class.

GOSPEL FOR TEENS AUDITIONS

Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 1 – 3 p.m.
Friday, February 24, 2012 from 6 – 8 p.m.

Location: The Mama Foundation for the Arts
149 West 126th Street in Harlem, New York
(Between Malcolm X and Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Blvds)

Teens will be asked to sing one upbeat and one slow traditional gospel song, such as “His Eye is on the Sparrow” and “This Little Light of Mine.” Students who are promoted to the performance class are eligible for Gospel for Teens appearances including competitions and concerts, as well as Vy Higginsen’s acclaimed musical Mama I Want To Sing: The Next Generation.
